Commencement Ceremony

Western New Mexico University proudly celebrates its graduates each spring and fall during Commencement ceremonies held at the end of the semester. This special occasion brings together students, families, friends, and the university community to honor academic achievement and the successful completion of a meaningful journey. Guests are invited to join in recognizing and celebrating our graduates’ accomplishments.

Students who complete their degree requirements in the spring semester are invited to participate in the spring Commencement ceremony. Students completing requirements in the summer or fall semesters are invited to participate in the fall ceremony. In addition, students with seven or fewer credit hours remaining toward their degree, and who plan to complete those credits in the summer semester, may also participate in spring Commencement.

Please note that participation in Commencement does not constitute official graduation. Degrees are awarded only after all university requirements have been successfully completed and verified by the University.
